family fun and ties

Acres of Wildlife has something to offer children and adults of all ages thus giving everyone in the family a great camping experience. The highlight of our trip this year for my grandaughter (age 2) was the firetruck rides. Our whole family enjoyed swimming, boating, hiking and attending the campground functions. Life slowed down and we took the time to enjoy it. Our favorite week is Pirate Week and we will be returning for this next year. Our eye patches, pirate clothing and flags are packed already. Our pirates range from 2 to 67,occupy 3 campsites and make up 4 generations. 2012 will be our 5th year and we are pleased to say that we have never had a bad experience at this campground. Our fellow campers have been great and the campground maintainence people are right at your site if you have a problem and correct it immediately.
Thanks for our camping experience.

Fun for all ages

The best part about this campground is PLAYING.There is usually a version of any activity for the kids, then another version for any adults that want to play. Lots of water play. Delicious clean spring water.Parents accompany small children so good manners are observed. Adults run the activities, not underpaid teens, so you can expect fairness in any competitive activity. Respect and good manners are expected, and the kids really shine.Sign up sheets are used for any activities that have a limited number of openings so no one is disappointed. Everyone is on vacation, so good moods are prevalent. Only other place I have encountered so many people in good moods (including staff) is at Disney World. The all campground water fight 2-3 x week (called "the Wet Hayride") is a nice illustration of how even the quietest older folks will get involved in some silly fun. Some draw chalk targets on the side of a truck, or sit with newspapers near the road as the wagon rolls by pretending they don't know what's going on...we all laugh all week long. The beach on the lake is refreshing and clean. Parents hang out in small clusters on floating lounges chatting about raising kids and everything else, while watching over splashing, diving, and cannon-balling kids on the beach and docks. Amazing fun. Try out a long weekend in the summer and you'll find your self checking back for openings all summer long.Folks tend to sign up for the same week each year, so you can end up building a sort of "summer vacation family". Not much drinking/partying at this place, although lots of us enjoy a drink at the pub or at our site while visiting. So many kids around that it is better that there isn't so much of that going on. Prices at store are very very reasonable for forgotten items, clothespins or bolts. Restaurant is good food, modest prices. Pub is priced same as local bar. Muffins, pies, fresh bread same as grocery store. Ice cream novelties & pints are high, falling into the "luxury" level$$

I would like to say that this campground is awesome for kids and adults most of the activities are for both kid and adults. There is a list of events with all the times at the office. So much fo the kids, as soon as we check in the kids are gone till dinner. Also there is a fresh bakery ( you should load the shelves with fresh bread on check outNm) everyone that we go with says the same thing that it would be awesome to bring a few loafs of bread home. This is gonna be our 3rd year renting A6 for bluberry week. That is a good week a lot of friends and family come up for that week. There is a lot to like at Acers Of Wildlife! You have Mr Magic, the mud bog you have the food fight and the Bon fire/ dance and so much more to list. Keep up the good work and my family and I will see you next year! Aloha

this was our I think 10th year going as a group of 15 or more for the week. It is really incredible that a group of people from ages 3-60 (when we started coming to now)10-55 can have such a blast but at Acres there is so much that ALL can do and enjoy together or even apart then come back to the camp sites and share your stories of the day around a nice campfire there is so much to do you could run yourselves ragged daily or as I prefer sit at the site and just relax most of the time until Bingo or Tie-dye or Happy Hour or the Magic show then there is the Sparks Arks guy that comes in a MUST see! Doen't matter rain or shine we will return year after year, time after time!!!
