We had a large group with people arriving at different times. Due to some other guests not filling the rules, one of our sites was not available to one of our party upon their late arrival. They had to stay with us for the night because other guests had their vehicles and trailers parked in our spot. When we went to the camp office the following morning to pay for our late arrival sites and discuss the issue we had, the office staff was very fast, efficient and friendly to solve our issue and ensure we had a pleasant experience.

Could be better

For the price paid we should have had hot water in our shower the first night we arrived. I was told the cabin number 5 had had problems before. I don't like cold showers. Young staff made no effort to adjust for the inconvenience at practically $200 a night. Excessive noise from campers across the way, well past quiet time, was not addressed after I called security and left a message. Staff could also beam far more helpful with route planning for first timers.

We checked in early we knew our cabin wouldn’t be ready but we were able to park and unload our ranger and hit the trails. Coming from MN we don’t have trails we do travel to WI, but these where amazing. Only trail we didn’t enjoy was the connector to pinnacle creek 27 and 20 way to long 11/2 hrs to do 12 miles. We went into town and enjoyed Riders Inn if you get a chance go there for breakfast, lunch or dinner and get a cold beer. We also checked out Riders Paradise another great stop. We will come back and bring more friends with us.

Trailhead ATV Resort is a top-notch atv campground. They're doing it right. Campground is well-laid out, kept clean and neat. Service is welcoming- helpful and friendly. It's quiet. We stayed in our 33' Class A. Plenty of room- EZ in and out. WiFi and cable worked fine. Car wash, 100% gas and general store is across from the entrance. People in the town of Pocahontas are as warm and friendly as can be. Pocahontas Exhibition Mine is a cool side trip. The Original Pocahontas Trail- not so much. Some nice woodsy riding. Friendly deer. Basically 2 reclaimed strip mine tracts (Bossevain and Pocahontas) connected by a blue/black trail- connector has a rocky, steep climbs. Eaiser for side by sides. Technically challenging for the beginning and novice quad rider. Most of each side of the two-part trail consists of tight loops crossing one another. A full day or 1 1/2 day covers everything. We're hoping the Original Pocahontas Trail soon catches up to the superior quality of the campground.
