Description

A world of water fun awaits at Eagle Cliff Campground & Lodging in Lanesboro, Minnesota, thanks to the inviting Root River that loops around the park. You'll find easy access to the river and all the equipment you need to rent for canoeing, kayaking and tubing. Soaring bluffs and wildlife such as deer, red-tailed hawks, river otters and a great many fish await those on a river ride. Bicyclists, skaters and hikers can head to the Root River State Trail, consisting of miles of scenic paved routes through picturesque towns in the southeastern part of the state.

You can book your space at Eagle Cliff using the easy online reservation system. Pitch a tent on the banks of the river or check out the many RV sites with hookups. Fire rings and picnic tables are available at each spot. If you'd like to stay at the charming five-room lodge, book early--it's very popular. The large, non-smoking rooms can accommodate up to four people and feature a private entrance, full bath, two queen beds, television, air conditioning and deck. Kettle grills and a central fire pit are provided, perfect for group gatherings. Groups of any size are always welcome at Eagle Cliff. And everyone gets a fifth night free!

Entertaining ways to spend the day and nights are plentiful. Special events at the park include Christmas in July, Halloween in August, fireworks and a bike and golf cart parade for the Fourth of July, karaoke parties, and a tube race on the Root River. Plays at the Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro are performed in an intimate setting with unique design elements. The building is a converted cheese factory with barn doors used as bathroom stalls. Explore Minnesota's longest cave and view a restored village at the Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park. Visit the farms and shops of the Amish communities on one of the numerous tours. Trout is the king fish here, and you can learn some important skills for catching some at the National Trout Learning Center in Preston. Plan now to visit Eagle Cliff Campground and get to know this intriguing part of the Midwest.

The Ritter Family are the best. Great time biking and floating down the river. Campsites are the best around. If looking for a good time, this is the place to go!!!!

Check in was fine however, I specifically requested 2 sites next to each other. Ours were not, when we saw this, we went back to the front office and asked if we could move so we could be next to each other, the girl didn't even look, she just said no, all the sites were booked. Fine. Next day w decided to go tubing, which by the way, is very expensive. The girl who drove our van was completely rude, even said that driving people was not part of her job and when my husband tried to make small talk, she rudely blasted the radio.. clearly not a people person. The campsite was soaking wet and very dewy, not that it can be helped but just so others are aware. Saturday night a group started to party at 10pm, which was supposed to be the start of quiet time. The blasted music, chanted songs and " who-hoo!ed" all dang night. Quiet times are not enforced at all. Will not be brining my family back.
