Our little piece of Heaven on Earth

This past week my husband and I stayed at Keen Lake for the first time, and we had the best vacation we have ever had together. This campground is so peaceful, beautiful and clean! Our campsite, albeit a teeny bit smaller than the ones to either side of us, was a perfect site to fish from, and sit in the cool air in either shade or sun, depending on the time of day. The pool was exceptionally clean and not too cold. The bathhouses were also clean. We also loved the little "extras" like the gazebo, playground, (although our children are grown), and the wooden swings spread out among the property, to sit and relax and swing and take a rest while out on a walk. We thought there was an extensive list of childrens activities too. My favorite part, was probably the huge waterfall right on the campground, and the stone bridges. (We got some awesome pictures of these). While posting alot of my pictures on facebook after we arrived home, I noticed that each picture so of a sunrise was better than the one before it! So beautiful. We had perfect weather every day, save for a short 15 minute storm. We met some very nice people and were very impressed by Mick in particular, who not only stopped what he was doing to speak with us, two weeks prior when we made an impromptu road trip to visit the campground before our stay there, spent over an hour chatting with us about local attractions, places to visit, the local hot spots, and all that the campground had to offer. My husband spent alot of time fishing from our site, and Mick had told him all about the types of fish they stock there. We will definately be returning next summer! The only drawback to us is that they aren't open year round! I highly recommend this campground to anyone-especially families with children. You wont be disappointed!

My family and I have been coming to Keen Lake for about 13 years. We have skipped a a year here and there to vacation at other campgrounds, but none compares to Keen Lake. We always find ourselves saying we should have gone to Keen Lake. The sisters are always a pleasure to see when we come up, and are always helpful. The lake is beautiful!! Bathrooms are always clean and the activities are plentiful. Ceramics night is our favorite!!! We will be back!!

Every other camper was friendly, and wanted the same experience for there children, and every one they came in contact with.My experience in the campgrounds was complete satisfaction and enjoyment to be able to share it with my grandchildren. I have been camping for over 60 yrs.and have enjoyed every minute of it. Starting out with an old painters drop-cloth as a tent, with a rope stretched between two trees, and cooking over an open fire with a mess kit that was my uncle's,that was brought back after his service in the army during WW two. I camped on the Islands in Lake George with a good childhood buddy , hitch-hiked to Canada in the 50's,still continued to go camping with my buddy after we both got out of the USMC,continued to be involved in camping as an Assn't Scout Master with my son, and now with my grandchildren.I have a lot of stories to tell them, making memories for them to remember, and valuble experiance to share with them. It's a thrill when my 7 yr. old granddaughter looks me in the eyes and say's-I love camping. My Camping now-a-day's is with my pop-up camper, which took me 25 years to be able to afford,my grandchildren enjoy going pop-up camping with me,they certainly keep me "young". My wife of 55 yrs. wants no part of camping , but I am blessed in that she never stopped me from my enjoyment, even to this day. I know that there are many other campers like me with similar experiances, and enjoyment, but I just wanted to express mine,I know I could go on forever, but I won't, I know I am not alone in my feelings
