Established in 1954, Keen Lake Camping and Cottage Resort offers 300 sunny and shaded sites, as well as lakeside sites, spread out over 90 scenic acres, most with water, electric, sewer and cable TV hookups. Spread throughout the camping area are clean bathhouses, playgrounds, and picnic areas, as well as rental cottages that will accommodate approximately seven people and can be rented for two nights, three nights, or a full seven days. This was our first visit to Keen Lake. Since we had 3 campers and 12+ adults, the Keen sisters gave us a location with a common space so we could have family fires, meals and games. The bathrooms were clean, well supplied and spacious. They accomadated our boat, helped us find shopping and restaurants and overall, made us very comfortable.

Keen - Lake is like no other - it is perfect for families - kids are occupied from morning to night - the fishing is great - the sites are kept neat - the bathrooms and showers are spotless - there are many activities every day - there are boats and paddle boats for rent - a large market is just down the road - there is a large pool and a swimming area in the lake (with lifeguards) - the older kids will enjoy the arcade and basketball courts - please go on the Keen Lake site to see what I am talking about - you won't be sorry you went and I guarantee you and your family will be back!

Quick Weekend Getaway

My boyfriend, puppy and I drove from the MD/DC area for a quick weekend getaway. The drive was very easy but long. Upon arrival Mic was extremely helpful and very nice. The staff was great and the cottage we were at was as pictured, the smell was a bit strong though (musty and moth balls). The lake is beautiful, my main disappointment was how packed together everything was, we were looking for a little more privacy and with several cottages, tent camping and over 300 RV spots it was very crowded. The other guest were also a bit uptight and rude to us, with one exception of a couple who had never been there before. Our dog loved the dog swim area but it was very small and rather close to another cottage, boats and the street which can be dangerous. The area is so small that really only one dog at a time was ever down there. 30 minutes after we checked in we went to the grocery store and got pulled over by a cop, who said our brake light was out. When we got back to the cottage we checked and in fact the brake lights were all working perfectly. I couldn't really get a good read on the townspeople and the summer long inhabitants of the resort but they weren't very friendly at all which was very surprising, and disappointing.

My family has been coming to Keen Lake for 20 years. We have always had a wonderful time. It's been a place for bonding as a family and just enjoying nature. The Keen Sisters are wonderful as all the staff is. I love coming here year after year. Thank you for all you do.
