Prices are WAY TOO HIGH, STAFF IS DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING THE GOLF CARTS: TEXTING WHILE DRIVING, TALKING ON PHONE WHILE DRIVING, NOT WATCHING WHERE THEY ARE GOING. STUPID RULES FOR CAMPERS:NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE A CLOTHES LINE TO DRY YOUR TOWELS OR SWIM SUITS:THATS REAL BULLSHIT!!! NEED TO REMOVE ALL GULF CARTS!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE, SPEND YOUR MONEY ON SOMEPLACE THAT ACTUALLY CARES THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD VACATION!!!

My family and I have been going to Lakewood regularly since 2006. Our caravan has been in storage since 2014. We love the place (Myrtle Beach) as well as the entire campground. However, there are three things that homeowners should reverse for the next year: 1) upgrading the toilet blocks. Indeed, they are no longer up to date, doors do not close well, water is not always warm, water pressure is not optimal and the property is poor. 2) The speed of the internet network. In 2017, it is not conceivable that we could not have access to a reliable network of internet. 3) An increase in the daily rate from $ 82 to $ 92 next year. We like the Lakewood but at almost $ 100 a night, it's a little exaggerated.

My family has been camping for over 20 years and have stayed at Lakewood on and off. I have my camper stored at a neighboring campground, but was not able to stay there due to late plans. I was very disappointed to find that Lakewood has made very few updates from our last visit( over 5 years ago). The bath houses are same as they were 10 years ago and stayed filthy our entire stay. There was trash all over. I was impressed with the Security at night. We were actually called out for not having lights on our bicycles, but the officer was polite about it. I know most people don't write reviews unless they are not satisfied, but LAKEWOOD needs to take notice of the similar comments reference making updates to the campground and especially the bath houses ! With the increasing cost of campsites now, more campers are going to expect more bang for their buck. There is no excuse for a campground the size of LAKEWOOD to not put some of the money back in improvements to the park.

Good park that we have been coming to for years. I have noticed that things seem to be changing in the last few trips , and not necessarily in a way that is good for the campers. We were here in June if this year and again in August , and I noticed that some of the things that were broken or out of service were still unrepaired. Those trips were in prime season so the campground was pretty full but I didn't really see more maintenance or cleaning then I do in the off season. They did rebuild some of the walkways around the lake that needed repair and they were really nice, but the lake had a lot of trash and a large dead bird floating in it day after day. I hope they get it together because I like this campground and hope to keep coming back for many more years.
