got lost!

Our first time here and front desk gave us a map with highlighted road to our campsite. Was wrong site! Found our correct site only to find someone on it. That party called the front office and we were given three other sites to choose from. I called to let them know what site we took and five minutes later they called back and said I had to come to the front office for new paperwork to straighten out their mistake! We have camped all over the country and most campgrounds have escorts to your site. Wasn't too impressed with our first visit.

Disappointed

This was the first experience we had camping in an RV park. We should have done more research, and if we had, we never would have chosen Lakewood. The camp sites are way too small, we were packed in like sardines. Absolutely no privacy if you wish to sit outside at your individual site. There were fireworks every night, which frightened our dogs, despite the fact the park declared no fireworks were permitted. There are far too many children operating golf carts and far too many golf carts as a whole. Each site had a "fire pit" for camp fires. We found the smoke very annoying and had to close our camper and revert to air conditioning. This park was more of an amusement park than a camping park.

Permanent campers

We have visited Lakewood numerous times. We have enjoyed our stay. This year, cost has increased along with the pricing 2nd car at camp sites. I understand there is limited space. Most campers have 2 cars. This past trip, we had what appeared to be a permanent campsite close to us. It looked trashy. We camp in a group of campers. On numerous occasions, persons from this campsite were seen close to our campers and outside coolers and moved swiftly away when one of us came outside.
