Ocean Lakes is our favorite vacation place to be. We have been camping since my grandchildren were very small and they can't wait until spring break and our first trip of the season to OL. They are now teenagers and have many good memories of our family times together there.

Our family loves to come to Ocean Lakes. We have count down days to each trip! WE love that we are allowed to bring our own golf cart and that we are able to get so close to the ocean. The ammenities are wonderful and we appreciate the friendly smiles of the Ocean Lake employees. We love that there are always improvements going on. It shows that Ocean Lakes cares about their guest by investing in those improvements. As for improvemmemts, I think that the store staying open later in the evenings would be helpful. Restoring the restrooms in all locations would be great as well.

We enjoyed out stay at the campground. Bring clothes for warm or cold weather, as it rained on Saturday night when we got down there on May 5, and stayed cool a couple of days, then it turned hot. Have chairs that are easy to carry to beach and an unbrella to have some shade when needed. Also, carry a cold pack bag for some drinks, and snacks. It was quiet at night so you could sleep good. We were thankful we were leaving when it was time for the bikers to be coming for a week. We hope to come back this year again. Thanks

The best campground we go to in our travels. We like the large concrete sites and the nearness to the beach. I like to golf and appreciate the great deal at Prestwick. We find the staff everywhere is friendly and helpful. The only issue we had this year were campers that rolled in with 2 vehicles ;as well as a golf cart and trailer to tow golf cart. These folks ignored the rules and put their utility trailer and golf cart on our lot . This upset my wife and I told her they would likely move it. By noon of the next day all these items were still on our lot. Security had driven by a few times and did nothing but I suppose they might have thought it was ours ,but due to the location I am sure they could have figured out. I asked them to move their equipment and their responce was"is it bothering you". I said it was and it was on our site. They reluctely moved it . I feel it was not my job to get this done. I think the front office should remind campers with golf carts of this rule and security should look for in their patrols. This issue occurs on other sites as neibours have experienced this. I guess a form of "bullying" by week end campers. True campers do not do this . I also see alot of people walking through lots. Aside from this you are the best and we are booked again for next year before we left.

A Great Place

We had visited this park almost 40 years ago the "refound" it in 2009. It was great then and it is even greater now. Very clean and well-maintained. If there was an issue we called the office and it was attended to immediately. Our site was beside the washroom and we actually used it as opposed to the washroom in our unit. !! Cable TV and Telephone connections as well as free Wi Fi a big plus. Sfter dark it was very quiet even though the people were still out. We saw NO Drug or Alcohol abuse at all on any of our visits. Security always helpful. The park, as are many in the south, is Christian oriented with standards that were adhered to by everyone we met. We saw no fighting or tiffs between campers. Church operations were well run as were Bingos. If I had any issues I wish the Volleyball for Seniors would be available a couple of hours a day and that shuffleboard would be more prominent. I found the golf carts getting a bit pricy once the season changed from winter to spring but we still rented them as it was a great way to meet people. We have three small dogs. They were treated as well as we were. The park might consider a kennel operation for people who want a day away. The book and calender of monthly events was well written. There is plenty of shopping for food as well as Wal Mart and other large stores within an easy drive. Downtown Myrtle Beach also an easy drive. A warning to travellers with allergies. We had a problem on our 2011 visit when my wife had a cold and allergies hit entailing a hospital visit. Again very close. This year allergies were bad again - Pollen - but we had checked with her Doctors and were ready. We both enjoyed ourselves immensly. Would we go back - definitely. Lastly - Fireworks ! I am a pyrothechnician and I actually enjoyed the impromptu beach shows. Two of our dogs - Yorkies - took exception but our King Charles was no problem. If your pet is nervous best take a site farther from the beach. This is the best park in the eastern US

Favorite Place!

We love Ocean Lakes! There is so much to do. If you want some action you can ride around on your golf cart to see the decorated houses and campsites, eat and shop at Sandy's or enjoy swimming and other fun activities at the Rec Center. If you want rest and relaxation you can do that at your house or campsite or on the beach. You can even attend church right at Ocean Lakes. I love the Easter morning sunrise service on the beach. Ocean Lakes is a great place for kids and teens! Kids can have so much fun riding bikes and just playing in the community-like atmosphere of a small town. And all of this within a short drive to downtown Myrtle Beach and many golf courses! Our family has been enjoying Ocean Lakes for many years and we look forward to introducing our grandchildren to all the fun that their parents had there.

Great place for the family. Our little dog was lost, a fellow camper took her for a ride looking for her owners, failing to do so she was taken to the office. she was well cared for until we picked her up. thank you so much for looking after our special little family member. great lesson learned by our teenagers on never letting her out of your sight.
