I use to camp for years, however it has been a long time since and finding Pioneer Campground was the best thing to ever happen. We have friends forever. Can't wait until next season.

October Camping

We were three families on our annual last camp out of the season trip. We had one 28' camper, one 24' and one 14'. Kathy was so nice and made sure we had sites together. She advised us to park the smaller camper backwards so that we were able to form a semi circle around one fire.
Ray & Kathy had put together a haunted house and hayride which we enjoyed! They had a cozy bon fire to sit around while waiting for the ride and actually opened the whole adventure up to the public which was neat.
We will be back next year for sure!

Greatest place to camp
0 % of users found this review helpful
The campground hosts treat everyone like family while camping at Pioneer Campground. We were there right after the flood and witnessed very much compassion that was generated by them and spilled over to the campers. It was a "fun"draising weekend for everyone involved. Glad we found them and look forward to Bow Festival Weekend next year!!

Thanks to friends of friends recommending this place. I found it a wonderful back to nature experience out in the middle of nowhere. This is the best campground I have ever been to....Kathy & Ray are exceptional hosts; they tend to every need and make you feel like family. I love coming back to see the changes they have made year after year. It is a great place to come and relax and enjoy the outdoors. My experience here has had nothing but wonderful memories. Can't wait for next year. See ya then Kathy & Ray

Last camping trip for the season

We really have a good time at this Camp ground the owners, Kathy & Ray can't seem to do enough to make the trip pleasant and memorable. My trip was with two of my adult neices and their hubbies, my hubby and 9 year old daughter.
The hayride and haunted house were fantastic.
Can't wait till next year plan on going back several times.

Great place

We found Pioneer Campground after discovering that the State park campground at World's End was situated right on Route 154. (Very disappointing!) So we left there and went searching for something else. Pioneer is very close to World's End State Park. The owner's are very lovely people. We had two dogs with us, so it was nice to see that Pioneer is pet friendly. We were escorted to a beautiful and secluded tent site, and within 5 minutes the owner also delivered a pile of freshly chopped firewood! Spent the night in blissful solitude surrounded by gorgeous forest. The facilities were immaculate and they have a well stocked camp store with just about anything you could need. The Sullivan County Roadhouse is right next store which has excellent food. We went there for breakfast the next morning. We plan to go back to Pioneer and would highly recommend it to anyone. By the way, the price was exactly the same as the State park campground, with a far superior location!
