I have loved this resort in the past. But it's changed. I felt I was nickle and dimed to death from the start. According to the paperwork you can have up to 7 guests on 1 site and not be charged extra. That's a lot of extra $(water & electric) yet I'm charged $35 extra to drive my car on and off the property - which didn't cost this facility a DIME extra for me to do so AND my guests have to pay an extra $10. That's just assinine. I've not seen another campground or resort with those rules. (We're full time so we've seen A LOT) My husband is disabled and needs his golf cart and yet because it wasn't outfitted with handicap options we could not bring it. The only option we had was to rent a very expensive golf cart from the resort- which we could not do. Again nickel and diming people. Not cool.
The WORST PART??? Not being informed at check in that they were going to be doing water wall construction in the lake directly behind our site. I work from the RV and while I'm on the phone with clients there's chainsaws and skil saws and tractors in the background. It was ridiculous. There's NO EXCUSE for not being given an option to move sites BEFORE we set up. We were told they would help us move AFTER we set up and wouldn't charge us. Well there's a FIRST. We chose to endure the construction because we were exhausted. Maintenance also lied to us when they told us they would cut the limbs that clipped our brand new rig. Those limbs were still there when we left. We also had to cut roots out the way just to get our steps level. For the price we paid this experience should have been way different. Too many places to put up with such NONSENSE. Again we will not return. Not that it matters to this resort. They will fill our spot with someone else and make the $ that they so obviously feel they need to make.
