If you are coming from the south heading north on Hwy 99 you can cut an hour by turning off at Kingsburg approximately 20 miles north of Visalia. When you cross the Kings River the next exit (approximately one mile) will have a sign that reads "Fresno County Lakes", the exit is Mendocino Ave. Turn right and follow Mendocino through the town of Kingsburg through a few stop signs. Mendocino will go through the western edge of the town of Parlier and end at a stop sign at Adams Ave. Turn left and go to the next stop sign less than one mile to Academy Ave. Turn right on Academy. Academy will go through the town of Sanger. Continue on Academy across Hwy 180 on through a few stop signs until the road ends at Hwy 168 (Tollhouse Road). Turn right and follow the signs up Hwy 168 to Prather, approximately 15 miles. Prather is a good rest stop. There is a Chevron station, Canyon Fork Super Market, Longs Drug Store, Ace Hardware, Velasco's (an excellent mexican food restaurant), a Foster Freeze drive in and Bill's Pizza Factory (a great place for a pizza).

    Mildly disappointed

Beautiful scenery and some beautiful tent campsite. Our problem was we asked to be as close to our sons campsite which you accommodated but not realizing that it was the furthest walk to the restroom. In the last two years I’ve had knee replacement surgery and back surgery. My wife also can get exercise induced asthma. We are in our early sixties. Also there is no privacy in the shower area. Also the wishon reservoir was had no beach area to take a day trip with the grandkids. If I had an rv with full hookups I might stay there because it was very beautiful there. One other thing the water spigot was also the furthest from our campsite.

    Family fun

Campground is nice, there are porch like areas to put your tents on so you don’t have to have it on the dirt and the fire pit is very nice. I will say the campsites are pretty close together so be prepared to get to know your neighbor lol but even so it was a great time and we made some great memories. One tip I would say if you’re going to hang out on the bank at the lake get up very early to find a spot. It was packed!

    Family tradition

We absolutely love Wishon Village! I started coming up here as a kid with my grandparents over 30 years ago and it became a family reunion/tradition to come up from the central coast and Southern California for my family. We love the peacefulness of the area and the campground. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

    My solitude

I drive 6 hours one way to get to my camp site, I do this because it is different here at Wishon Village, I live near the beautiful San Bernardino mountains in San Bernardino California but on my most recent trip I identified why I keep coming back it's because of the way the manzanita smell, those wonderful plants give off a unique aroma that I don't get in the mountains near me. Plus I relive my memories of when I was a young adolescent, I'll keep returning as long as I am able
